Plumbing Realities in a Fast-Growing City
Lehi’s explosive growth means the city has two very different plumbing stories happening at the same time. In the older parts of town near Main Street and Center Street, homes built in the early to mid-1900s still have galvanized and cast iron plumbing that has been in service for generations. These aging systems cause low pressure, discolored water, and drain problems that get worse with each passing year. On the flip side, newer developments along the Traverse Mountain corridor and near Thanksgiving Point have modern plumbing, but the sheer pace of construction means some homes were built with corners cut on fixture quality and installation. Builder-grade water heaters, for example, are often the minimum size and quality, leading to early replacement. Lehi’s water is drawn from a combination of wells and treated sources and carries enough hardness to cause scale buildup in pipes, heaters, and appliances. We help Lehi homeowners on both ends of the spectrum with pipe replacements, water heater upgrades, water softener installations, drain cleaning, and the full range of repairs that growing families in a growing city need.
